- From Jaipur: ∼3 hours by road, 150 km

Roads are smooth, so self-drive is easy. It makes a perfect day trip from Alwar or a quick stop between Jaipur and Delhi.

History: Why There’s a Palace in the Middle of a Lake

The lake was built in 1845 by Maharaja Vinay Singh for water storage. Over time, it turned into a royal picnic spot.
